I’ve written an article in Psychologies magazine this month about ‘finding your tribe.’ Once again, I had the privilege of interviewing the fabulous Martha Beck, Oprah’s favourite life coach about her book: ‘Finding Your Way in a Wild New World: Four Steps to Fulfilling Your True Calling’ (Piatkus.)
(A brilliant book – her best yet – it’s full of magic and mystery and belly laughs – and explains why meeting a rhinoceros will quite literally heal your life.)
I interviewed Martha about the importance of ‘finding your tribe’ – and why it’s so important.
(I will be allowed to release the interview with Martha at the end of January – which I will share with you then)
Emotionally, says Martha, connecting to your tribe can feel like a revelation.”Because our culture has traditionally been so conformist, we sometimes repress our hidden yearnings and then feel trapped with certain groups of people who don’t share our values or communicate how they really feel – be it at work, socially or the school gate. It can make us feel very alone, isolated – and a little bit odd.”
I found myself nodding enthusiastically at this point. I was always the odd one out at school, at work, at parties. People thought I was eccentric, or just downright weird. It wasn’t until I started my own Big Leap Tribe – that I realised how fabulous it is to be surrounded by free-thinking – call it eccentric if you wish – creative, optimistic people. I came to understand my Big Leap tribe and the values we live and belief systems we live within help me to get to where I want to go because they are – what Julia Cameron calls - my ‘believing mirror’. I talk to Big Leapers every day who make things happen. Everything that they do or say gives me one more piece of evidence that we can achieve whatever we put our minds to, that the impossible is not so impossible to achieve. And even better, you can have fun creating the life you really want.
Psychologies kindly invited to be part of their Make It Happen event on 9th February in Cavendish Square London. I will speaking along side Lucy Beresford Psychologies advice columnist, Jules Evans, philopher and author of Philosophy for Life and Other Dangerous Situations and Jane de Teliga, a fashion journalist, stylist and lecturer, who in her fifties, left Australia and her adult children to make a new life in London and is writing a book about her life changing experience.
Louise Chunn, editor, will be discussing the best ways to achieve your goals, not matter how big or small. We’re going to be learning how to master motivation, and beat procrastination and tackle the hurdles you face on your journey. There will be workshops and group sessions with all the speakers too.
As well – as wine, nibbles, and a fantastic goodie bag!!
I’m offering a free ticket to anyone who joins our Big Life tribe: Our Big Life in the next 7 days. (Psychologies are holding on to a handful of tickets for me just for the week – the event is 75% sold out already).

Apparently it’s ‘black friday’ in the States, the day after thanksgiving and the day that people usually start their Christmas shopping.
If you are looking for an unusual gift this year – why not give some Big Love to a loved one? I’ve created a 21 day online programme that has put together all the lessons, expert wisdom, Big Love Rules that I learnt when I was on my year long Big Love Experiment. (I spent a year interviewing love gurus, dating experts, scientists – even a psychic love coach – on how to ‘find’ love.)
Personally, I’m reaping the benefits as I now have a lovely new boyfriend. But I don’t want to be selfish so am sharing what I learnt so we can all get ourselves some Big Love in 2012. So whether it’s you or a ‘friend’ that is looking for love, do check out my new programme.

Big love to all!
The Big Life Retreat is now sold out. And for all those who have emailed me, yes! we will be running a retreat next year but not until November 2012.
I have only a couple of Big Tickets left for December too, so for those who do want to work with me right now, be quick and grab your spot.

December is a brilliant time to get started on the coaching process because it allows you to get focussed on what you REALLY want to create in 2012 and hit the ground running versus waking up on the 1st January feeling fat, flat and crap! (or is that just me?) I’m working with such brilliant, amazing Big Leapers at the moment and I’ve got the feeling 2012 is going to be quite a year for us all. I can feel it in my water!
Also keep an eye out for my new online programme The Big Love (Or Find a Boyfriend in 21 days!) which will be launching very soon. Which I must say has really worked for me! (I’ve finally stopped weeping and wailing over Adele’s Someone Like You and got myself a boyfriend!)

I
was delighted to interview fabulous Big Leaper Vanessa Shaw last week about her new passion and project – how to create a passionate, purposeful and profitable business.
www.bigleaplife.com/audios/vanessashaw.mp3
Vanessa is a big cheese in the coaching world, on the global committe for the International Coaching Federation and founder of Simply Zest – a company committed helping people and businesses grow.
In this interview, Vanessa shares her secrets on how we can take our passions and make them into a profitable business. (But also when not to…) She talks through the key ingredients of how to package and deliver programmes that people ACTUALLY want versus ones we think they might.
You can sign up to Vanessa’s free tip sheet: How to avoid the 7 mistakes coaches and consultants make that prevent them from generating a lucrative income.
Or join her on her new course How To Get 3 Clients or More in 30 Days and Generate Immediate Income, which starts on Thursday. She’s offering all us Big Leapers a discount of $25 if you wish to attend. Just use this code: H41NED16ND
I hope you find Vanessa’s wisdom useful.
